On our last visit to Paphos General ,the consultant gave me a repeat prescription for the first time.As the prescription is for my wife,what is the procedure for collecting her medicine? Do l need to register at reception, do l need any form of I'd and what time does the pharmacy open ? All information will be gratefully received.

If a sticker was inserted into her prescription book by the consultant you just need to put the correct amount of payment stickers on the reverse of the page and go and collect.Sorry do not know the times of the pharmacy.

The pharmacy used to open around 7-30am. I assume there are no labels stuck onto the prescription in the book. If not then you will need to register at the registration windows with your WIFE'S medical card, and I believe it will be €6. Ask them to stick the correct labels in the book, and don't forget to get prescription stamps put on from the 'stamp' window..

The prescription may well be written in the book, but IF there are no up to date labels on the prescription, then new ones would need to be obtained from the registration window.. Even if you are not seeing the consultant..... the fee for the correctly dated labels for the prescription is €6...

Agree with trevnhill. I once saw the Dermatologist and he told me to return in 3 weeks, but no need to go via Reception as he just wanted to check the treatment was working. Followed his instructions, but he decided to try something else and I had to go to Reception, pay the €6 and was issued with the labels, returned to the doctor and he then stuck a label in my notes and another in my prescription book. Took book to buy stamps and then proceeded to Pharmacy to get item. Presumably if you saw a GP, then you would only pay €3 at Reception.

Wasn’t it rumoured that prescriptions were going to start being issued for 6 months ?

We still have to get ours for 2 months each time .

The last time I saw my heart consultant she gave me 2 x 3 months prescriptions.. So I only have to see her every six months.. She did impress upon me that if I felt unwell at all then I must go into the A&E

Yes, that’s quite true. I had to folow this procedure which Trev & Lincoln outlined when I went for a repeat to my prescription yesterday. Firstly to queue to pay my 3 euros, and get the labels, then off to the adjacent window to get stamps to stick on my prescriptions...
Then a short wait at the Pharmacy to pick my meds up.
