We have friends who used to live in Nicosia and when they visit in the summer they always comment on how humid it is here. A couple of years ago, in September, our Honda Jazz went in for a recall and we walked round the old town. A few weeks earlier we had walked round Athens in 40c heat and the 33c in Paphos felt hotter.
Not unusual to have a heat wave in September.

Well, I live also in Paphos, a bit in the hinterland at Minthis Hills area, but have nearly the same high temperature than Nicosia has at the moment.
It is actually the second hottest morning this summer, with 35.7 c and 20% RH. right now 11 AM. I wonder if other Paphos areas have it similar hot. Outdoor air-con is on full blast for my dog Lucky...(deep asleep)

Doha = 37 deg C, 6 am.... beat that

...
We had a heat index of above 56 deg C on the offshore rigs and had to stop all non safety critical operations for several hours for a few days in a row now recently.
The Middle East could become uninhabitable mid century some predictions say. Quite an irony that the emissions caused by the hydrocarbons sourced here lead to the destruction of the places where it is mostly sourced from.

No Andreas, we luckily cannot beat that temperature....I feel already uncomfortable after the last night was not cooler than 27.5c. Alright was only the humidity with 35% RH....
The last week of August was funny anyhow as there were clouds everyday, but now summer came back...
