Hi
Does anyone have good knowledge of which snake is which? I wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a viper, coin snake, cat snake or....?
It was just a baby.

Difficult to be sure but possibly a Cat Snake (Telescopus fallax cyprianus). Did you get a look at its eyes, which would have vertical slits?

Thanks all, I was hoping it was not a viper (though hopefully he's moved in from my garden anyway l). I didn't notice his eyes at the time (I'll be more observant in future!) but from my photos they seem more round than slits.
I'd just turned off all the house and garden lights to watch shooting stars last night when I noticed my cat was standing over something batting it. I managed to get the cat away and locked indoors. The snake wasn't too happy but kindly did pose for photos for me....

I did the same last night, not with the cat and the snake, but turned all lights off except one very bright street light, looked up into the sky and didn’t see any meteor shower, just the usual stars and Venus shining brightly. Didn’t anyone see it, if so when and what time? I was very bloody disappointed!

I even went outside at 3am Saturday/Sunday morning, nothing!

That's a shame Aphrodite! I counted around 15 shooting stars Sunday night, between around 11pm and 12.30am. They don't come thick and fast though, "shower" is perhaps not the right word. It involves a lot of patience and lying there staring at the sky with nothing to do except think (and sip a couple of drinks). I usually do it every year though, I enjoy it. I was hoping to see more last night but not a single one, but I was out earlier and for much less time.
