Cactus?

Can anyone please advise the name of this monster cactus

which is starting to sprout flowers on top?

Looks like a Yukka.

It's a Yucca yes - and not part of the cactus family by the way - I love them and they really are easy to keep (even indoors).

Yucca for me too but not like the ones we are used to back in the UK! Same with the Rubber Plants here as well, not some small office decoration, have a look at the one in the harbour at the café near the Archaeological site …………………… it's a monster!

Definitely a Yucca, we have several around our place and flowers are the same. There is an App for your mobile (Android) called plantsnap that allows you take a photograph of a plant and then it tells you what the name of the plant is

There's a huge one just around the corner from our house. It's got masses of creamy white flowers on it and from a distance it looks like long strings of garlic waving in the breeze. Doesn't smell like it though, or else we would be sitting there and thinking, "hmmm shall we eat Italian tonight?"

Thanks everyone. In no way does it remind me of the yucca plant my mum had on her kitchen shelf! I had no idea they grew so big!
