Having lived on our Blue Orange (private) complex for eleven years, we have now been issued with new laws concerning a licence and lifeguards. It seems strange to us that there has been no outcry from anyone else be it local web or in the press as we know our complex is one of many that was built by Pafilia. It would be interesting to have other people’s comments on this matter.

Many thanks memory man for passing on that info. Obviously we missed first time around especially as we only received the letter from Pafilia a few days ago. Here’s hoping this problem can be resolved once and foreall!!!

There is a very active Facebook group "Apartment Complex Committees, Paphos" where this has been under discussion for a while. As always seems to be the case in Cyprus, nothing is clear!

In the case of Elysia Park, it is being run more like a tourist complex than a private development. There is a booking and excursion office on site and they have a website for internet bookings. I would suggest it is therefore being classed more like a hotel which would mean it would need to operate under those rules with proper monitoring/lifeguards etc. Just a thought as to why this has arisen there now.
