Given that we hadn't been in the EU for 50 years, how will he even be able to judge fairly in 50 years that being out was better?

As is usual, Brexit will benefit the wealthy only. It is no coincidence that the EU has been trying to push through moves that makes tax avoidance across the region, illegal, such that investment firms such as those Rees-Mogg owns, unable to offer the benefits they currently enjoy, such as tax havens in parts of the world, where their investors can ‘hide’ vast sums away from proper channels.
With Brexit, the very wealthy can continue their theft of taxes and enjoy their capability to increase wealth while others suffer.

Slightly off subject, but have you seen the name of his latest child -
Sixtus Dominic Boniface Christopher Rees-Mogg.
Dominic clearly the odd name out there! ))
But then, Eton, Trinity Oxford, over 100 million in his off-shore accounts - clearly represents the average Brit. ))
Will anybody on this forum be under 100 in fifty years' time?

That makes two of us. Is that it?!
Rees-Mogg is a very interesting character. Obviously brought up in a very exclusive environment.
Six children, and yet he admits he has never changed a nappy in his life. That says it all for me. And my husband indeed.
He is often referred to as "the honourable gentleman for the eighteenth century".
His backward views obviously delight the older folks, who pine for the days of the British Empire, and somehow bizarrely believe that this state of bliss will return under Brexit.
But if Mogg thinks there will be nothing to show for at least 50 years, then... the conclusions are obvious to a sane person. Britain has screwed itself.
Mogg won't care. His wealth is phenomenal. His children can get foreign passports. No wonder Farage was recently queuing up for German passports for his children!

I will be 100 in 50 years time. Had you asked in January I would have responded more positively.
