Paphos Life

The elderly couple referred to in the article are very dear friends of mine. Some on this site may well know the husband (Rick Legend) who is a musician and plays at various venues in Paphos. He sustained a broken leg and ankle and was operated on this afternoon - his wife (Pam) sustained heavy bruising. Both are as comfortable as can be expected.They were just pulling away from the traffic lights at the bottom of St Georges Hill when they were hit by the Russian driver of a lorry on the wrong side of the road. Fortunately Rick was driving quite slowly having just moved off the lights otherwise this accident could have had more serious consequences. As reported the driver, who admitted it was his fault, was three times over the drink driving limit. I have been to the hospital and, as I say, both are as comfortable as can be expected and Pam may be discharged tomorrow.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
