Help, patio door not sliding!

Please can anyone recommend someone, who can take out one of our large sliding patio doors, and possibly replace the runners. The sliding ledges have been cleaned, but makes no difference.
I would appreciate your help on this. Thank you.

do you have any WD40 perhaps the runners have run dry. worth a try

We had the chap from the window place opposite Paps in town. He came cleaned it all out, replaced with new rollers and set it up again. €40.

I have the same problem with a pair of large heavy patio doors. We cure it by cleaning out the runners and the part around them very thoroughly. Then spray with WD40. Job done as the doors move freely again!
WD40 has multiple uses would never be without a can of it!

Many thanks for your replies. Have used the normally, wonderful WD40, but it didn't work. So now, will go to the window place you suggested Darrow. Thanks again.

Some types of sliding doors have very small rollers or wheels within the "grooves" of the doors bottom guide rails. I have had these disintegrate over time. In my case it was a simple case of popping out the doors, running them up to a Window fabricators who replaced the wheels in about 2 mins flat for if I remember correctly €1.50 a wheel, there were 2.
Obviously you need a suitable vehicle and be fit enough to do that. Otherwise its a call out job and appropriate fee.

you are right brokers. We found the doors too heavy for us, but we could see the rollers were worn,. The man who came lifted the doors out on his own. No problem, but we haven't got enough a trench even with two of us. Comes with old age!

Sliding door fixed. Thanks again folks for your advice. The chap who carried out the job, was recommended from the window place opposite Paps, this morning.( Thanks Darrow) Gave Panos a call, came out this afternoon and did a brilliant job, just one large patio door.... 35 Euros.
