We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by such companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis. Our partners may also use such technologies to deliver advertisements to you. We use cookies to remember users’ settings as well as for authentication and analytics. 5. How We Protect Your Information.
Paphos Life is concerned with protecting your privacy and data, but we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Paphos Life or guarantee that your information on the Paphos Life Web Site may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of any of our industry standard physical, technical or managerial safeguards.
When you enter sensitive information (such as log in credentials) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our Site, you can contact us at privacy@paphoslife.com.
We use a credit card processing company to bill you if you purchase services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
6. GDPR
This is the new EU-Wide Privacy Law that is going to be in force from May 2018.
i. Controlling Your Data
The only personal customer information held online on the Paphos Life server is freely editable by that customer, and by Paphos Life. Paphos Life will only ever change this data at the request of that customer. For instance, we will reset your password if you ask us. None of this data is shared with any other company, with the exception of the online payment form that advertisers use. Their cc details are processed by Braintree. Paphos Life does not see the data.
For more information, consult the Braintree GDPR page.
The forum software, phpBB, does not encrypt any data it stores, outside of a password. This means that the forum owner, in this case, Paphos Life, can access every message posted, either publicly or privately. This is how the forum software works, and is not something implemented specifically by Paphos Life. Paphos Life WILL NOT read anybody's private messages without their explicit consent.
ii. Removing Your Data
You can delete your own individual forum posts yourself. However, cached copies may still remain on search engines etc. If you want to delete your entire account and remove all your posts, the quickest way is to just ask. Paphos Life uses phpBB for it's forum software. When deleting a user, phpBB gives you the option of keeping or removing the old posts. If you want all your posts removed, we will do so. Bear in mind though, that if a post has been quoted by another user, this will not be removed by default. However, if you ask us to remove specific occurrences where you have been quoted, we will remove them when we delete your account.
iii. IP Addresses
when you register your IP address will be checked against a list of known spammers. If you don't want this to happen, do not register. If we have reason to ban a user for spamming, we just delete the account and any posts. We do not pass this information on to any third party. If we have banned you, you can ask for your name to be removed from the banned list. However, we will still know that you are banned, so any attempt at re-registering will be swiftly dealt with.
iv. Third Parties
Paphos Life utilises services from the following companies: Facebook (like button, blog comments), Google Analytics (site statistics for internal use) and Google Adsense, for the adverts. The only personal information we store is optional. For instance, you can enter your location, but you don't have to. None of the personal information you enter will be passed to any other company.
7. Compromise of Personal Information.
In the event that personal information is compromised as a breach of security, Paphos Life will promptly notify our customers in compliance with applicable law.
8. Data Access, Correction, Deletion, and Opt Out.
For current Paphos Life customers and forum users, you can review, correct, update or delete inaccuracies to the information about you that Paphos Life keeps on file by logging into your account to update your password and billing information. We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. If you wish to opt-out of being tracked by Paphos Life's analytics software, you can do so by closing your account.
9. Children’s Privacy.
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, Paphos Life does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@paphoslife.com.
10. Notification Procedures.
It is our policy to provide notifications, whether such notifications are required by law or are for marketing or other business related purposes, to you via email, or through conspicuous posting of such notice on the Service, as determined by Paphos Life in its sole discretion. We reserve the right to determine the form and means of providing notifications to you, provided that you may opt out of certain means of notification as described in this Privacy Policy.
11. Links to Other Web Sites.
We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites or services linked to or from Paphos Life, including the information or content contained therein. Please remember that when you use a link to go from the Paphos Life Site to another website or service, our Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party website or service, including those that have a link or advertisement on our website, are subject to that third party’s own rules and policies.
12. Social Media Widgets
Our Site includes social media features, such as the Facebook Like button and other widgets, that run on our Site. These features may collect your IP address and which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the organization providing it.
13. Changes to Our Privacy Policy.
All changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page. When we change the policy in a material manner, we will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Site, prior to the change becoming effective and update the ‘effective date’ at the top of this page.
