Hudswell,
I always get my watch battery changed at the little watch menders shop which is right next to the Kiniras Hotel on Makarios Ave. That’s in the old town. He also sells some cheaper watches. He is a pleasant old man and knows his job.His price is very reasonable.

His son has another watch shop on the road near the market. He sells the more expensive watches.

I visit Hong Kong regularly and always bring home one or two watches. They're quite attractive, usually white face, black numerals leather effect strap, and cost €3 a time. They last about 12 to 15 months, and I could then change the battery, but it's just not worth it. The last time I changed one, Gregory in the old town charged me €5 !!!!!

Gregory’s . Very good & they know what they’re doing if you have an expensive watch.

When the watch battery has been changed on a water resistant watch, if the sealing ring is not put back then condensation occurs inside the watch face, and you cannot see the time :-( Sadly this has happened to me.

Avoid using cheap battery's, could damage the watch.

I gave up wearing a watch when we arrived on the island, no need for one personally, I always have my mobile and it has a clock on it.

So second hand Longines solid gold for sale! :D It was my 25th year MF works watch. No need for batteries it winds up.

The guy in the market in Pafos old town replaces watch batteries, but as posted do check the seal if it is supposed to be water resistant. Probably the same chap as Ramone posted.
