If anybody living in Polemi has lost a chicken I just fished a live one out of the big green wheelie bin near our house.

They seemed quite happy, and I had to tilt the bin over to get them out. It is black in colour and now happily pecking the luxury bird food I gave it by the side of the road. It doesn't want to move away from the vicinity of the bin though.

It made me jump when I opened the bin, I can tell you!

Cant say I ever saw a fully black bird like your one before, I dont think they go far from their pitch, maybe it was in the back of the dust cart, and got into your bin?

It isn't my bin. It's a communal one beside a road.

The ladies have returned from school and the chicken is now in the back garden. She's had a drink now and is about to get a bath...

It's a real shame it is not a duck which could have a swim with you and the ladies in your pool

There is a new, chicken-shaped star in the sky tonight. It was obviously very sickly, which is why it was dumped I guess, and didn't survive the evening.

Still, she had her hair washed and blow-dried before she went, and judging by the state of her, probably received more love in her last few hours than the rest of her life put together.

My wife has talked about having some chickens for a while now though, and I now know that our daughter is very keen, so if anybody has any tips, we are all ears.

And to the animal who dumped Charlie in the bin in the first place, may your karma catch up with you one day.

So, back to Pork Chops for this Sunday lunch, Dom?
