The photos of the victims of the chemical attack were so distressing to watch, I cannot for the life of me see what Assad hopes to achieve, truly terrible. It's all worrying but this maniac has to be stopped somehow.

Douma was already in the hands of Assad, so logic makes me ask myself why would he attack an area already under his control using chemical weapons. and by that I am not saying he didn't do it.

The trouble is these days, media manipulation is one of the most potent weapons of war.

I can’t see what Syria / Russia had to gain by using chemical weapons! As they have won the war against the rebels, my opinion it was a third party that did this to cause more mischief, to get the results they want.t

All you have to consider is who would benefit from a continued USA/UK/European presence and intervention in the theatre of war in Syria, especially when you consider that it was only a couple of weeks ago that Trump had announced he wanted to pull out all USA troops out of Syria. I will let you work this out for yourself.
Whilst thinking about this do not apply the same principles to other parties to the civil war as we think we maintain.

Read this, it may shed some light. It may not, but it will certainly make you think:

CIA Considered Bombing Miami and Killing Refugees to Blame Castro
Donald Trump's bold promises earlier this week to finally blow the lid off the JFK assassination mystery by declassifying reams of secret documents turned out to be a gigantic tease. The National Archives ended up making public only a fraction of the JFK documents last night.
Still, the 2,800 papers included in the new document dump confirm some salacious details of America's decades-long quest to kill or depose Fidel Castro — including a fairly shocking plan by the CIA to sow terror in Miami.

Termites Dream,
I stand to be corrected, but I thought the main news channels were reporting the evacuation of the majority of residents (rebels and civilians) from Douma before the chemical weapon attack.
TM will not do anything unilaterally. I agree about the usefulness of a missile attack in the present situation. Assad has all but won so as a deterrent it will have no effect.
Remember the first casualty of a civil war......TRUTH.

Reports today that war ships are leaving the USA for Syria, how true I know not.

We should keep out of it. It's nothing to do with us, or the USA for that matter. At the end of it all Assad will remain in power (he is still seen as the legitimate government by all countries) and the only thing that will have changed is that a fair part of his country and people will have been destroyed.
It was originally a war against ISIS (who didn't threaten the UK), then against Assad (who didn't threaten the UK), now it is turning into a war against Russia (who didn't threaten the UK, but are likely to if we attack them).
Perhaps TM is trying to unite a divided country, Falklands style.

Trump is nuts. We need to stay out of it. This bullshit was possibly created for the USA to have an excuse to go in. WMD never existed. The USA are the hidden bullies. My view only feel free to slate me.

Many brave USA lads lost their lives in the second world war and was not making small of the sacrifice they gave us to be free. Brave men very brave.

But always remember, Stelios, that the USA came out of WW2 much richer than it was 6 years earlier. Such are military supplies, US Gov and Lend Lease...
Whereas all the other combatants (Allies and Axis) all finished up in near bankruptcy, with food rationing still going on into the mid-fifties here in UK! I remember it as a young lad, helping my Mum with the shopping.

Yep Al we only paid our debit off a few years ago to the USA. Not backing them I think they are a load of shits. Was just saying they lost a few in WW2 as did the Indian Muslim/Hindu fighters with who my grandad fought with in Burma. Regardles of sides they all fought for freedom.

So it has now kicked off, jets from RAF Akrotiri, the French and of course the American forces have been involved in action against chemical plants and some airbases in Syria, this could end up very serious for us living here and of course the world, this Hitler type Putin seems hell bent of war and it looks like we are about to get it, it was a matter of time I thought the leader of Syria, Assad was due to be sorted out several years ago, lets all hope this does not escalate any further than it has.

What I wonder is whether bombing cheapical weapons production facilities doesn´t come with the risk that toxic chemicals are released which might cause some "collateral damage" in the form of innocent lives?
