Sounds to me that she was already drunk before boarding the flight in Manchester, so how did she get on?

I don't see that this has anything to do with Paphos airport.
It has everything to do with Manchester airport and Easyjet. They should never have boarded in the first place.
Not just one but FOUR were evicted.
"Girls" from Liverpool drinking their duty free on board the plane and being rowdy. Now there is a stereotype if ever I heard one.

Make them pay for any extra costs the airlines, might have diverting ..that might hurt the morons?

I love the bit where she start crying .... " i want to go home ....". Now that would have been worth seeing. The instant sobriety when she realised she was going to be arrested. Quality.

Probably 99.9% of passengers from Manchester are well-behaved, this is just the unacceptable odd one. Onus must be on the airline operator.
Hope everyone else on board enjoy their well-deserved holidays.

But in the hurly-burly of the departure gate with everyone on their best behaviour so that they are not denied boarding, it is not to easy to detect those who will imbibe their duty-free booze once on board...and then become unruly.
If you read the original report it says "Fellow passengers reported that the woman had been drunk before they boarded the flight". So no excuses.

Perhaps make UK airports keep the same licencing hours as local pubs set by their council? It's nuts to allow travellers to get tanked up in the airport bars at 6am, then stagger onto a flight!
Perhaps breathalyzer tests at the gate might be a deterrent? The carriers won't allow you to drink your own booze on board, they want you to buy their very expensive ones- then refuse you any more if they think you're OTT. There are a lot of double standards and hypocisy at play here...
