I believe seaweed was discussed quite recently in another topic. It was considered by a lot of people not viable to use it to make fertiliser. Some enterprising students think differently.

Hope so, Lloyd, I really do.. When you think about how seaweed is used for human food around the world, it must have something going for it, in terms of protein and nutriments, eh?
If not for human consumption, then at least for the agriculture in Cyprus!

Also 'Seaweed' is one of the ' Biotanicals ' that they put in some Gin [ Harris for example ], another big market. I saw a programme on the TV that pointed out that there were so many different types of seaweed that just saying 'Seaweed ' was like saying there was only one vegetable. So many types, so many uses, I would have thought.

Yes you are right, I enjoyed crispy seaweed many times in fine restaurants in the past when living in Switzerland and Italy. Interesting article of the health benefits :

Your right Terry, and you would not eat the seaweed on Yerouskipou beach it is inedible I was told. Definitely has a unique smell though, rotting eggs maybe?

They don't serve seaweed on Yeroskipou's beach tavern yet

but perhaps in future when the new project nearby eventually will happen with artificial island and posh restaurants... and indeed you don't need extra salt on seaweed when fried.
There is a nice link WHERE and how they collect seaweed for different food...
