Another legend bites the dust.
What amazed me about him was how good he was at singing. I grew up with viewing him as an entertainer and puppeteer. It was only later on I really heard his voice.

We saw him twice at the Llandudno theatre, Venue Cymru. First time we got out of the theatre at half past one in the morning. People were having picnics in the carpark before driving home. He had a fantastic voice and could have been an opera singer.
This song, which he sang when he was on Songs of Praise a few years ago, will always be one of my favourites, as my mum had the poem it came from displayed in her home. I thought about it yesterday.

The last time we saw him, about three years ago, he still performed on stage till 1pm. However, when he was speaking, the microphone was picking up his breathing even though he was still full of energy. However, when he sang, it was just like a young man singing again.
Wonder if the Inland Revenue will be going to his funeral. They have got a lot to be grateful for, as Ken invented Self Assessment.

Very sad news, and even more so that he married his partner of 40 years only 2 days ago.
RIP.

A sad loss. Nobody lives for ever, but you sort of thought Ken might. I last saw him perform live in his late 70s and he was brilliant. I had heard all the jokes before, but I was still in stitches. In my book he was the best comedian has Britain ever produced.

This is not only very touching, it's one in the eye for HMRC as it will reduce his inheritance tax bill.
RIP Sir Ken

I was saw Ken live for the first & only time after being invited by some friends at Bedworth town hall. As we waited to enter I was intrigued why so many were carrying cushions. Enough said. My bum was so sore after what must have been 5 hours of entertainment. He was one of the few. Not everyone liked his style of humor but he never gave up
