Police on Thursday were not ruling out foul play in the death of a 46-year-old woman in Yeroskipou, Paphos.The woman, a Bulgarian national, was spotted laying in a field by a passer-by, who notified authorities....

This is a truly horrendous story, if the the last paragraph is accurate.

According to the state broadcaster, it is possible the woman may have sustained injuries in a work-related accident, and then taken to the field by her employers and left there.

It is quite a very different story now, her being killed by Rottweilers. The dogs owners have been arrested.

Yes, it gets weirder by the day, unfortunately.

Thank Heavens this poor woman's family have raised enough money to take her back home to be buried.

Unfortunately there is such a thing as dangerous dogs..... Dogs left to fend for themselves, revert to pack animals hunting and killing for food...many years ago whilst on holiday here with some mates we rented some mopeds, we went off for a ride out in the country side, while passing some farm out sheds a pack of around six vicious dogs came hurdling out barking and showing their teeth, trust me they didn't come to play, God help us if one of us had come off while we sped away.

A tragic incident.........I cannot understand why it took so long to identify that she had been mauled by dogs, surely teeth marks were very evident of this lady, a very sad situation.....

I would think her injuries were more then teeth marks, more torn to shreds, if half a dozen rottweilers set about on her

I would have to disagree with you there Lloyd - mostly it is the way any dog be it a Rottweiler or any other dog is treated.
Of course if they are mis-treated or badly trained a Rottweiler or indeed any other large breed, purely due to it's size can be dangerous.
Any any dogs kept in a pack can easily revert to the pack mentality.

I totally agree with Flossie and Poppy that Rotties and Staffies are not dangerous if they are trained correctly........the owners of these dogs that have attacked are the dangerous ones as they have taught the dogs to attack by sticking cigarette in them and knocking them about the head with a plank of wood to encourage bad behaviour .........weak men parade with these dogs with spiked collars to make themselves look hard....or so they think......

Dogs owned by a responsible human would never be allowed to roam free especially 5 Rotties more than 2 dogs are a pack.

It’s just such a sad incident for this poor lady to loose her life

Oh come on.......... Can I ask how you know this please... ???

Dogs are trained to attack/fight.........if this wasn’t fact, each and every Pit Bull Rottie and Staffie would do the same.....THEY DO NOT.......like humans there are always the rogue dogs ..........always treat human and animals with respect

I’ve owned animals all my life and taken on rescues that most would avoid..........memories take a long time to heal but there is nothing more faithful than a happy well treated dog

My apologies I didn’t mean to suggest that these dogs had been treated this way.......
I have scene dogs that have been used for fighting/ taught aggressively with badly deformed mouth and cigarette burns that have come into rescue they are abused from puppies........

When our small dog was mauled by a Rhodesian Stickle back or whatever they call them, the owner was 100 meters AWAY from the scene and did not touch our dog, the DOG mauled our dog not the human.

Just saying.

PS The human owner paid our vet bills so he wasn't all bad, not as bad as the animal.

The poor lady reportedly was alive when found and indeed was able to speak to police so less of gory suppositions please!

If I recall initially it was thought she had been caught in some type of farm machinery by disreputable employers and dumped in the filed, but finally after 3 post mortems the cause of death has been confirmed.

If she was able to speak, there would be no need for three post mortems to find out the cause of death would there?

Plus, you are assuming she could speak Greek.

It is a very very sad story. I feel so sorry for the woman and her family. Can't imagine how she had to suffer. Poor poor lady.
