Does anyone know of any companies in Paphos that supply glass balustrade systems for balconies, our balconies currently have metal railings around but we are looking at changing these in the future to a glass system

Any information would be apreciated.

I have fitted glass balustrades to my house in Scotland. They are the type without a top rail, like the apartments, as this gives an unobstructed view.

My glass wasn't self-cleaning, but you can make it so. There is a kit from Amazon, that you put onto the glass, after very lengthy and thorough cleaning. It is the same as is often used in high-rise buildings to let the dirt run off....

Fitting near salt water has additional problems, in terms of the potential corrosion of the normal stainless steel trays that support it. In the apartments, they look to be anchored in concrete instead. I'm sure you could also protect the SS with an oil product, to stop staining near the sea.

We have these all around our patio. Supplied and fitted by Alutech on Geroskipou indusrial estate. Requires a 2 or cof cleans each year, say 4 hours effort for about 40 run. over winter the rain cleans them. Today being a perfect example!

Don't about the cleaning...far easier than painting metal railings...had them about 9 yrs....
Just make sure you specify top spec stainless steel for any uprights,

Not really worried about the Glass cleaning, as Dave said got to be easier than the painting, railings have been up 14 years and looking a little tired now even though there painted every other year.

A wipe over the stainless steel bits with a soft rag sprayed with WD40 every couple of months should keep them happy!

But what about the glass panels? From the Safety aspect, are there any Building Regs in place to determine their minimum thickness, and whether they should be safety glass, or laminated?

Stick-ons on the glass should also be considered... Preventing kiddies running from inside to out, without seeing a glass panel in front of them! Similarly, birds flying from outside to in, then SMACK into the glass... Just a thought.

I appreciate this is an old post however we have recently purchased Glass balustrades which appear to float on our balconies, these have been purchased from a company in the UK who ship to Cyprus every 4 weeks or so. Funny enough I was pricing them the other day opposite the main Paps, €149 per metre. Either with the stainless handrail or just the sheet glass type.
