Any recommendations please as to where to sell a good quality Gold Solitaire ring here in Paphos, or would it be better to sell back in the UK.....

That's interesting, Flossie! In UK, a jeweller would probably only offer scrap value for the gold, and £0 for the artistic content...

Bearing in mind that most gold rings in UK are the hard-wearing 9 carat variety, if you took such a hall-marked ring to Cyprus for valuation, the jeweller would probably shrug their shoulders, as their gold starts at 14 carat and higher.

Does a gold solitaire ring mean that there's a real diamond embedded in it? If so, there may be some added value methinks...

Years ago, I bought my dear wife a £300 9 carat heavy wrist bangle for her birthday in UK high street. In Limassol 1998, a jeweller said it was worth CY£50

I think the safest way would be to get a valuation first without mentioning you wish to sell.

I’ve always found Maria’s jewellery in Kitma to be helpful.
