In all three days it is expected that the island will be affected by rain, but, as with any system, there is a large rainfall range from area to region.

The provinces of Paphos and Limassol are expected to receive the most rainfall, followed by the Larnaca province and the fewest amounts expected in the Nicosia province.

Total rainfall rates are expected to range from 5 to 40 millimeters, averaging around 15 to 20 millimeters.

The 11% rainfall of the current month is expected to reach around 25 to 30% by the end of the month.

As for the snow, these will be limited mainly from Troodos Square and above. Snowfall is expected mostly on Sunday with possible volumes of 5 to 10 cm.

Well, we had a little heavy rain (sorry, I mean a short spell of heavy rainfall  ) early this morning, just before I switched on an electric fire and tripped the fuses. Fortunately, by the time I'd fetched the torch, checked the inside fuse box and decided I really did need to traipse outside to the meter cupboard (elegant in night attire and welly boots!), the rain had stopped. Surge protector had done its job, so I just had to re-set it. Power back on. Now to have a look at that fire - I think the element blew just as I switched it on. Hopefully I have a spare in stock.

Yippee! It's tipping down out there. Those hunters daft enough to brave the elements today are getting a rather cold power shower, sufficient to dampen their ardour

I think we might beat the 20mm that the map states - constant hard rain here since early morning. Lights and heater on - might even start the log burner to get some winter spirit into the house. ευτυχισμένο το νέο έτος to all.
