When I click on the link, it takes me to a page where I can select which article to read. When I click on the dustbin story it does not go anywhere. I still have all the choices .... no story .

For me Christmas is the chance to put a smile on peoples faces...they come twice a week regular as clock work and take the trash away, smelly horrible job, they will be getting a tenner from me as will the lad who fills my car up etc.

Ba humbug!
I allways tip the bin men, who provide an excellent service, and our postman for the same reason!
It is Christmas after all, and these folks do not earn a fortune!

I got the impression it was advising not to give a tip if you are asked for one - in case they're not really dustbin men.
There's no reason you can't run out and give them a tip personally, if you want to. We give ours cans of beer so they have to share it. Not so easy to hide a 6 pack from your fellow colleagues in your pocket

We hear them coming down the road, so go out and wait for them ..always give them a tenner each.... I dont know about others . but it gives me a good feeling .

Our dustmen don't deserve tips, the messy buggers. Had to complain several times about them leaving rubbish all over the road. And they put the empy bins right in the middle of your driveway.

Our binmen arrive at 4am in the morning and do an excellent job in Pegeia.

Yes, I see them every morning when I'm out walking the dogs along Ayious Georgous. Always get a wave from the guys.
They do a great job & deserve a tip / a few cans of beer ETC.

I'm the one with the 2 white Labs.
But it's usually pretty early and I very rarely bump into anybody at 05:30 in the morning.

Here in the UK I tip our bin men and always have, and I also tip our postie who again does a good job particularly in the recent very bad weather.
