Crikey, he was 10 years older than me, but I can still remember him coming home from Stopsley Senior school (where I went later) back to where he lived around the corner from me, near Luton Airport.
It was a shame that James Bolam took on pretentious acting airs and chopped Rodney out of the scene for 40 years...
