I quite often lose my CYTA internet for 5 to 10 minutes at about 7pm, and then it comes back on again.
Is anybody else having this problem?

Not us either.
Have you checked to make sure the problem is at the router end, rather than just the PC?
IE, does it happen on more than one PC?

Are you by any chance on a two-rate electric tariff that switches over at that time? Just a thought.
Amos.

I do also, nothing you can do Cyta tell me, as that is change over time, to what and to where I have no idea, but for sure your not on your own, I go make my coffee ..
To answer a question above, this happens on all of my PCs. Also it has nothing to do with Broadband speed either.

If it happens on all PCs about all you can try is to reboot the router. Out of curiosity though, next time it happens, see if the lights on the router are any different to what they should be.
On rare occasions I have had a router that looked totally healthy thinking it was connected to the rest of the internet, whereas in fact it wasn't. In those instances, rebooting the router solved the problem.
But yeah, follow Jim's advice and make yourself a coffee. Often the best way to deal with life's minor irritations.

I did engage Cyta a few times, they know this happens in some areas and they say they will look into it, that was two years ago, they said it was a terminal switch over, as I posted to where and to what? they never explained. It's is not a real problem for me.
I am now an expert in grinding coffee beans and making coffee..

Further to my earlier reply, could it be when they turn on the street lights in your area? This is done automatically.
Amos.

Allesey, as you say, you have exactly the same problem. I can live with it, but it can be quite irritating at times.
I'll go into CYTA tomorrow, and see if I get the same answer!

Our street lights go off at 5.30am, so not that....but thanks!
Good luck Phil, the stock answer will be, "its your fault"

We are in Polemi, and although not directly with Cyta, our supplier receives his internet signal from them.
We do have the very odd outage due to signal drop, but certainly nothing like 5 or 10 minutes..
Also we have a very low signal strength early in a morning, but still enough to use our laptops..
Have you had any satisfactory reply from Cyta yet ?

This could be to do with the router obtaining a new lease from the Cyta provider at 19:00 every 24 hours. A trick to try:
Creep downstairs at 03:00 and power off the router. Grab something tasty out of the fridge, then, a couple of minutes later, power up the router again and bugger off back to bed...
Does the 7pm outage still occur next day? If not, you've cracked it! The router will now be playing silly buggers with leases at 03:00 rather than 19:00 daily.

Thanks Al, It doesn't happen everyday, but I'll get up at 3am one morning, and give it a try.

Here in Paramli I lose my CYTA internet at about 6.50 in the evening for a few mins. Nothing serious just buffering on the telly and if I'm playing music on say apple music it stops. Only a few mins and then it's all back to normal. The green lights on the modem all flicker like crazy as well.
I aslo have an MTN modem ( the CYTA one has old technology that cannot run Sonos speakers ) and that does the same but around midnight or later. I only know it because my iPhone which has the Sonos app switches from MTN as the internet provider to CYTA so I have to change it back in the mornings. Always assumed they both are doing stuff to the system . I have however noticed that when Manchester United are on the telly the signal is buffering most of the time but that is probably the box provider struggling with the demand I have assumed . Not a problem for me as a Wolves supporter until next season when we will be playing them .

I visited CYTA this morning and they could give no explanation for the interuption in service. They simply told me to ring 132 the next time it happens !!

Whenever I have had a problem with my internet signal I have dialled 132 and the ladies on the other end of the conversation have been most helpful.

Yes Varky, I too have used 132 on numerous occassions, but I was hoping CYTA would give me a reason for this regular interruption in service.
