When our car was new, 13 years ago, we tried various car covers, two bought locally and one a very expensive one from Halfords, but they all rotted in the sun. We now wax our car regularly to protect it from the sun, and so far this has worked with no blemishes on the paintwork. We use Mer Car polish, brought over from the UK and when we wash the car, we use a shampoo with added wax.

Car covers are a mixed blessing here apart from what has already been written, they tend to get very dusty and when it rains that turns to mud! Which then dries hard in the sun...
Also it may get dusty/gritty on the inside which in turn may damage the paintwork. If you have the space a shade port or a car port with a roof tends to be a better long term bet.

A car cover also alerts low-life burglars to the fact that nobody is in residence...

Been here 15 yrs and tried various car covers from those stating 100% UV protection mostly they turn to dust and leave more damage to the car paintwork than been left open to the elements A good car port would be be the preferred option

A touch of Victor Meldrew springs to mind - You really should learn to tolerate older people - If you cant find one in Paphos Amazon have a really good selection.

Lotus

For the reasons written above, the general opinion is that car covers are a no-no, we are just trying to be helpful by suggesting a better alternative. If the premises are unoccupied, car covers get partially blown off in the wind and then they start ripping apart, takes 3 months before they are useless whereas our carport has lasted for many years.

Just a thought.
