So people have been complaining because they showed Muslims having a turkey dinner? But hang on, those people complaining are the same people who complain about immigrants not integrating, aren't they?

Can't see what the fuss is about, don't want Turkey, don't eat it. What on earth are people complaining about ?

It is getting worse year on year..... There are now social media sites devoted to 'poppy-watch' and they complain if they spot anyone on the TV not wearing one...... I think the only people that would lose any sleep over this would be the BNP or ISIS supporters, having said that I do get fed up as HIC said, we have social engineering on every advert going now.

I've got friends who are Hindu and I've sat with them and had xmas dinner several times,they may not see it as a religious holiday but it doesn't mean they can't enjoy the spirit of the event. It's more a part of British culture than a Christian event nowadays.

All Muslims I know, have Xmas presents and take time off etc. Christ is a big part of their religion.... They have the same beliefs up to the point where Mohammed come into the picture. They are not offended by Christian celebrations, festivals or whatever.

Many years ago, the last school I taught in was a Catholic faith school and a large number of Muslim kids attended - especially girls. In fact, we had to turn many away as there were so many placing requests. Their families wanted a faith ethos in education

And the last school I taught at was 90% Muslim pupils and a small number of Christian Black Africans who attended various churches. Christmas was and still is celebrated with Nativity Plays and Christmas Parties, just as Eid is celebrated in school. School's ethos is to show respect for all beliefs.
Also many of the families in school have Christmas trees in their homes, send Christmas cards to eachother and not just Christians and staff, and buy the children presents, but keep to their own traditions at Eid of buying new clothes and shoes and giving money.
We will be receiving Christmas Cards from our Muslim friends.

And I am getting a little fed up of living in a country were it is OK to be racist.

Indeed. To this day, the best example of true integration I have ever seen occurred on a train journey from London to Blackpool. There was a drunk Pakistani lady, dressed in a sari, singing "I'm not a hairy mairy, I'm your moll". She then proceeded to tell an anti Pakistani joke, saying she was allowed to tell it because she was one. The best bit though was her voice. She had a thick Glaswegian accent. I'll never forget the sight, because, in all seriousness, it was a beautifully surprising example of cultures merging and integrating.

A few of my mates are Indian Muslim and they love Xmas as do the kids. They buy a Halal turkey from the Muslim butchers. Think Tesco have spotted a gap in the market for this. I would be very pissed off though if all turkeys in Tesco were Halal though.

Most products produced for the shops (Any Brand) have a halal and kosher certification to prove they have no pork products on site and it is a request by the BRC to show this on the label.

Great story Dominic, but the Glaswegian accent got to you......she sang I'm no hairy Mary I'm your Maw ( mother) a great song....lol

Should add that hairy Mary was a prostitute, which makes Dominic's story even more amazing.

Yep, I was told what it meant by the mother of the friend I was travelling with. I worked with him in London, and he invited me to Blackpool to stay at his parent's place and see the lights etc. I told the story to her and she translated it for me.

Why wouldn't there be?

Interestingly, halal meat can be stunned before slaughter, whereas kosher meat can't.

But how does this relate to say, hunting? Surely, if a muslim hunts and kills an animal, it won't be halal.
