We used to live near Farnborough. Every two years it got rather noisy.

They can invite whoever they want. It's their party.

Love them but can't recall seeing news of an exercise this weekend!

Reminds me when we were in the south of France years ago, just got comfy on an isolated beach, when two air force jets flew over our heads, never mind them shooting anything at you, the noise was enough to frighten you to death.

Out of interest, do the GCs still hold the Nikki Forros joint military exercises every October?

It used to be a regular sight during these exercises for two Turkish F15 fighters to fly low over Paphos and scare the sh*ts out of everybody! Even the Greek Air Force Hercules carrying a visiting Greek military high-up was 'buzzed' by Turkish fighters when én-route to Cyprus...

I recall the USA giving Turkey a NATO slap, telling them to cease such provocational sabre rattling behaviour in future!

AL :)

I suppose if they had invited Turkish forces that would have shown their independence. Duh!

If events follow the normal pattern, the next joint exercise will be in early November, so for those who don't like the noise, plenty of time to invest in ear defenders.
