Oops just what is Boris up to now?

Apparently he has set out his four red lines for BREXIT which I have to say make sense to me but why he is doing this now just before the Conference I am not quite sure. He is also arguing for a higher minimum wage and a substantial increase for public sector workers.
Is he really making a play for the leadership?
Personally I find him to be a very clever individual as with Jacob Rees Mogg who many people say he is one of the most clever people in Politics for a long time and they both seem to agree so.........is he going to be sacked or is he going to be our next PM?

Boris is a "stalking horse" put up as such by the right-wingers in the Conservative Party who want to force a Party Leadership contest.
He will be one of the candidates, but Amber Rudd and Rees Mogg are the front-runners.

Many other people call Rees Mogg a clueless out of touch idiot. It's all swings and roundabouts.
Who would vote for Boris though? He had his chance once and bottled it.

Many Party Members like his views on abortion (for example).
He would for sure make a better PM than Mr Corbyn of the nasty party.
Amos.
P.S. Is your cold any better Dominic?

There's no point using phrases like "nasty party", it gets applied to all of them.
But party members are one thing, ordinary voters are quite another. It was party members who gave us Corbyn for a start.
No, my cold is turning into man flu. I fear the worst.

Well it was not me that introduced that phrase at the Labour Party shindig, it was someone in the Conservative Party + the Media .
I don't know about "..it gets applied to all of them", but it certainly DOES apply to all of them (Political Parties).
Amos.
P.S. Re your cold/flu, bad news. I hope you soon get over it.

For my part I only wish there were a few more, as described by some, "clueless out of touch idiots" like Mr Rees Mogg in Parliament as a whole and on the Conservative Benches in particular. I do wonder if any of those who describe him and others so have ever actually met him/them. It occurs to me that they certainly do not listen to him properly when he speaks to reach the conclusions that they do and indeed some of the others so randomly despised. Mr Rees Mogg frequently appears on "Question Time" and he always presents his points in a calm, reasoned and intelligent manner in my opinion and is fully conversant with his brief.
Why is it so necessary to insult people for their point of view? I have known Jeremy Corbin, along with many other MPs of all hues, ever since he/they entered Parliament - I dont agree with his or his parties views but I recognise fully a man who believes sincerely in what he is saying - it is just not a philosophy I personally wish to embrace and sincerely trust the country feels likewise for all our sakes. I appreciate MPs are fair game and I too despair when they sound off on some topic or another but no party in my opinion holds a monopoly on good or bad ideas. Our saving grace in all matters political does boil down to the Civil Servants heading the various departments who know what can and cannot be achieved but nevertheless prepare two sets of briefs before an election taking cognisance of what is being promised (and often cannot be delivered) by all parties.
As for Boris - he is nothing like Donald Trump but is perfectly capable of taking care of himself and others whatever is thrown at him. He is certainly not an idiot. Again in mine and others view had he not decided to stand as an MP but ran for Mayor of London again he would have won - the people of London love him (not all of course).

Thank you Rita again - much better put than I ever could! It does seem to me that those who resort to insults are those that are incapable of holding an informed debate. I'm pleased you share my view of Jacob Rees Mogg Rita as he seems to be one of the most honourable and genuine politicians. However you have not answered my original post - what do you think Boris is up to?

At least Boris would keep us on our toes and most likely, never a dull moment either.... far more interesting scenarios than those created by our current PM.

That would not be difficult. I anticipate she will have a very hard week and deservedly so. My guess is that she will go down in history as worst PM since George Grenville, and he was in office a long time ago.

And she has been put in a position unprecedented since WWII, she is not an entertainer....she is our Prime Minister, yes she will probably have a difficult week....but I anticipate she will prevail...and I think you can look closer to home for a worse Prime Minister...Brown springs immediately to mind.
Brown AND Blair = the dynamic duo (not).
AKA the Muppet Show!
