Good morning everyone. After many hot nights, the first cool morning (21c) in my area. It looks like Autumn is creeping in....

Great shots thanks, Max! Funny you should mention your drone, as I was browsing these on the Amazon UK site yesterday. Amazed to see that they start from just over £20, including HD camera (still shots and video) and remote control.

Back to Autumn. Remember that we normally get a nice 'Indian Summer' period around the time of the Autumnal Equinox. This occurs in one week's time on Friday 22nd September. The Sun will be directly overhead the Equator and it will be 12 hours day / 12 hours night no matter where you are on Earth..

Cheers- AL :)

Be very careful, Dom. Remember what happened to Michael Schumacher in his skiing accident...

Do you all wear proper crash helmets when enjoying tobogganing, just in case?

Cheers- AL :?

It is quite rare to find Motor Cyclist with helmets here. Unless they are hanging from their elbow :-)

We have had a couple of 18c nights up in Tala . But we still need the cooling on over night , can still end up sweating with just a sheet on . Mind you it might be better if we could leave the windows open , but barking dogs prevent that .

Nobody wears a crash helmet while tobogganing.

One thing I will probably give a miss this year though is body boarding. Last november near Polis a ferocious wave tossed me off the board and flung me into a big bank of pebbles. Gave me a lovely shiner which I had fun explaining to the locals. :)

Ah, I wondered why you needed cooling when the temperature is cool now at nights.
But if you cant have the windows open then I can see why.
We are fortunate that we can have the door and three windows open at the moment .

This is one of 5 woodpiles I store around the property with almond tree wood which was cut 5 years ago and would burn perfect if needed unlike fresh delivered wood which is mainly not more than 2 years old and in some cases just cut. But this pile I would not touch as it is the home of many of my lizard family. (Agamen, lizards and geckos living together without any problem)

This is a Polemi sunrise. I shall have to find a vantage point to get the sun rising over the mountains.

Yes, but I want a better angle. Something that reflects the majesty of Polemi, as opposed to the more mundane lowlands. :P

I didn't take a photo unfortunately at 6.30am today, but I was struck by the red tinge to the sky and rising sun. Maybe its due to the dust and mist of the early morning. It was also lovely and cool here and damp. But I remembered the old Englush saying "red sky at night shepherds delight, red sky in the morning shepherds warning"! Wonder if this applies in Cyprus? We certainly need rain!
