Eleven hunting dogs worth a total of €16,700 have been stolen from their owner in Geroskipou, Paphos.
According to their owner, the dogs had been housed in five cages within a stretch of agricultural land. He said the locks on the cages had been cut through by whoever took the dogs.
The owner also said the dogs were worth a total of €16,700.
There is nothing to suggest that the specefic stolen dogs were not taken good care of by their owner including being fed properly, exercised regularly and given adequate company and stimulation, but many people, Cypriot and otherwise, have long expressed concern over the treatment of animals in Cyprus. This concern is extended to hunting dogs which are often confined to cages except for hunting and training.
