A friend of mine was adamant that the lyrics to "Venus" (Shocking Blue) were extremely rude - she misheard "I'm your Venus" as "I'm your" ... something that rhymes with Venus!

To be honest (and fair to my friend, who had a convent school upbringing!), she did the mis-hearing in a noisy disco - remember those, the precursors of clubs?

For all these years I thought the girl in Peter Sarstedt (RIP) 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely' was a Geordie because I thought she stolen the picture from Newcastle instead of Picasso!
