Now that we have covered the route from Vretsia to Kelefos, let's return to the subject of Venetian Bridges. This time, we will feature Roudia Bridge. For years this eluded us, as we drove past it without realising it was there. With the help of the previous blog, you should now be able to locate it and know where to park the car. So let's take a look at the bridge itself...
Read the article and chat about it below...

Another fascinating blog thanks, Dominic. Not only about Roudia Bridge itself, but also the way you've explored the immediate surroundings and photographed other interesting nearby features as well.
You mention that this bridge forms part of a Nature Trail. Is there a Forestry Dept schematic available for this trail, I wonder? Looking at photo #10, there appear to be two park benches located in nice shady spots close to one side of the bridge, similar to what you see around the trails in the Akamas.
Suggestion re signs: why not take a close-up piccy? If it's all in Greek, someone here on PL is bound to be able to translate it...
The bat cave you found- do my eyes deceive or does that cave have a 'back exit' as well?
Cheers, and keep 'em coming please! AL

One thing I see mentioned: Saouris Cave. Does anybody know anything about that?

Good link thankyou, Dominic! Might be worth updating last two blogs with that info, perhaps?
Here is what I found on Saouris Cave. First thought it might be your bat cave, near Roudia Bridge, but no,
Right next to the gorgeous Tzelefos medieval bridge (and some 5km north of Salamiou), take some time to sit back to take in the splendour while you listen to the Diarizos river gurgle beneath the bridge. And if you want to take in views of the whole area, then just head out on a path that takes you through a dense pine forest as panoramic views abound, with the path then leading on to the idyllic Pera Vasa picnic area. Then, walk on to Saouris farm belonging to Kykkos monastery, past the Cave of Saouris, and beyond!
Pera Vasa- isn't that on your trail between Roudia and Kelefos Bridges? After Kelefos, the trail appears to head NE up into Troodos, to take in three more Venetian Bridges tucked away under the pine trees up there...
Cheers- AL
