Thunderstorms predicted late Sunday morning and into the afternoon with further rain on Monday.
Never seen rain in August the 10 years I've been here, better get my onions off the drying rack early in the morning.

The Weather Matrix agrees with you, though the thunder seems to be more centred on the south.

August can be a weird month, weather-wise. Thunderstorms, torrential rain, and hail stones midway between the size of golf balls and tennis balls!
Lots of rain and thunder here in Luton today, but no freak hail. Saved me from having to top up the bird baths, LOL!
Cheers- AL

3am this morning it was raining in our area, not a lot but rain it was, and it is not that unusual, they say Cyprus has rain in some areas every day of the year, August included.Devil will tell us all no doubt!

Jim, your pictures are not showing at all because you have not paid the premium to Photobucket.

What you want with this link? Is from 24.7. - much less water in the dams now I guess...

and last year the Asprokremnos Dam was only 53%

Do you have a more up-to-date link then?
From HiC's link we can see that this time last year (- 2weeks) the water level was 53%, whereas this year (-2weeks) the water level is 31%.
That is cause for concern, especially if we don't have a wet winter. The desalination plant is a couple of years away yet...

So does anybody have some up-to-date weather reports? There seems to be a problem with the Weather Underground feed from some locations. It is cloudy at the moment in Polemi, but no rain.

Those pictures were taken last Friday, the top shot was from the Dams own website, but I agree I have never seen it overflow like it did in that picture for some years I think 2012, we have had so little rain the last few years, maybe we will this winter, let's all hope so.
Paphos International Airport weather seems to be working as it should.

Lovely and cool down in Trimithousa but it says a thunderstorm is possible or possibly not.

It was the top shot that confused me. I think HiC posted a video to the full dam a while ago, and said it was 2012, or thereabouts.
The wunderground feed does appear to be working again now. Let's see what Mother Nature brings...

That's the dream, isn't it? You've made the effort but then have to stop through no fault of your own. You then have an afternoon of guilt free TV watching ahead.

We experienced rain in August within our first few years in Cyprus.
Easy to recall as we were at one of the free concerts held around the Assumption Day holidays on the Enearios car park near Curium roundabout at the end of Makarios Ave, Limassol by what was the Holiday Inn hotel. Think it went to a Crowne Plaza hotel before we left.
The rain was very welcome indeed!
