Not sure where to post this.

Many members will have known Lynsab a regular forum user across all the Cyprus forums.

Unfortunately I have just found out that she passed away last Tuesday after a fight against breast cancer.

A great lady who had been a member on the Cyprus forums for over ten years.

Yes, I do remember Lynsab a regular poster on CL, I am very sorry to hear of her death, always sad when members pass away.

So sorry to hear this news. I never met the lady but her lovely, level headed personality shone through in her many contributions to the forums.

I don't recall her giving any indication of it.

Her posts always gave us something to think about......

I couldn't put it better Huds. A sad loss.

This is so strange, I was just wondering about her today and recalling her posts about her health situation. She never amplified the situation, but got the impression it wasn't just run of the mill.

We may not have always seen eye to eye, but really saddened by this news and my sincere condolences go to her family and friends. Rest in peace Lyn, may your God go with you x

Extremely sad news about Lyn. Her posts were very well-informed and her personality shone through, many times. I always got the impression she didn't suffer fools gladly, but actually, she was very compassionate too. I am so shocked, as I assumed that she was winning her fight against that bloody awful disease. Her last post on the EC Forum stressed the importance of men being checked out for Prostate Cancer, as her husband had a brush with it, and had treatment, which he responded well to.

So, as a tribute to Lyn, can I suggest that, wherever you live, get checked out - in the UK, we're invited for breast cancer and cervical screening tests for women, and bowel cancer tests for men and women over 60. Men have to request (I think) a test for prostate cancer. In Cyprus, most tests seem to be very reasonably priced. Could be the best investment you ever make. Please do it.

Come on folks. In Lyns name, in the name of a relative, a friend, a neighbour,....... get the checks done, may cost a few quid, but it may save your life.

Very sad news indeed, though I didn't know Lyn personally, I always enjoyed her posts, she brought a caring & balanced view on the many subjects she debated, my heartfelt condolences to her family & friends. Far too young to be taken...RIP Lyn

As I am on UK State pension I use the General for most things. On a visit to a GP I mentioned that my father had had prostate cancer (He didn't die from that) and a 6 monthly check up was organised with the urologist with blood etc. being given a month before any appointment. So if anyone else is in a similar situation, regular check-ups are available at the GH

It makes real sense that men should after 50 years or so get a proper prostate exam not just blood test, although I have had blood test's for many years, a digit test although uncomfortable tells your specialist that you may have an enlarged prostate, I do unfortunately but I live in hope it does not turn cancerous.

Men, get a check as soon as you can, do not put it off.

It is indeed sad news, always sad to lose a regular poster, who you feel you knew. RIP Lyn.

As has been said, have the regular checks done, my cancer was detected by mammogram. Ladies don't assume that if you can't feel or see anything that all is well, I can assure you that isn't true.
