There was another happening on the 17th when I had the humidity in the very early morning. As the air cleared I heard a funny noise outside in the garden which made me take my camera again in case...

Very quick I found out what this noisy sound was - thousands of bees having a feast on my 40 m long hedge with nice colorful flowers..it is very difficult to show on a pic how many bees there were, it was like in front of a bee-hive.

On this photo one can see how dense with flowers the hedge was..

Close up for members which perhaps can tell the name of the plant...

Today, two days later there were only a few flowers in bloom and a few bees desperate to get some out of the flowers..

Another close up showing how pretty some flowers are..

Actually the hedge( >more than 3 m high) would need trimming but would kill thousands of flowers and the bees had no easy feast in my place.. Next bee-hives are 4 km away

Absolutely lovely, Max. Thank you for sharing. I too would like to know the name of this plant, if the bees like it I will endeavour to plant one. Bees are such appealing little things, something about them always makes me smile.

You are always welcome Bograt. I was already wondering what was wrong with this post as you are the only one with a respond. I will reduce posting in future as I think there were too many from me.

I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with the number of (always interesting) posts from you Max - it is just that currently members prefered to talk about Apples rather than bees

BTW the plant is Polygala. Grows well in Cyprus, drought resistant and yes, bees love it!!

Poly kala (πολύ καλα) = very well

Imay poly kala (είμαι πολύ καλά) = I am very well

Imay poly kala kai esee? (είμαι πολύ καλά και εσυ,) = I am very well, and you?

I've only just seen this one as not been on the pc quite so much the last few days..... our big dog Ruby has busted her back leg (a ruptured cruciate) so we have to keep an eye on her. She's not supposed to climb on the sofa or jump on the bed, but those are the 2 places where she feels safe and most comfortable. Waiting update today from the vet as to the best way we can proceed.

Feel very sorry for your dog. Long winded thing when it happens to football players (a couple of month out of action) but with dogs? Perhaps they have to operate. Are you giving her pain killer? Buy her a huge dog bed with cushion! And something she can chew on all the time.

What I have is more likely the Sweet Pea Bush from this huge family of Poligala. When I go with the photo of this link than it is my hedge...

An idea has occurred to me... Given that you have probably the most beautiful garden in the whole of Cyprus, in such an idyllic and picturesqe setting too, why not consider installing a Webcam?

Feeding still shots through to a prominent link here on PL every 5 mins or so? Digby at Holitec is the man to talk to, should this idea appeal to you (and Dominic).

Absolutely NO Webcam at this property. I want to live in peace and quiet even when the scenery with 180 degree views to mountains AND the sea would be optimal for a web cam. Probably one of the most beautiful garden I had in the past when living at Neo Chorio with no neighbours for several miles. But this is the past which is sometimes not easy to forget.

I've only just seen this one as not been on the pc quite so much the last few days..... our big dog Ruby has busted her back leg (a ruptured cruciate) so we have to keep an eye on her. Oh dear, poor Ruby. And poor you, because when your pets are in trouble, you worry all the time. I wish her a very speedy recovery xx
