Boiling Cyprus set to cool down

Cyprus can look forward to cooler weather as of Tuesday following a prolonged period of sweltering heat that saw inland temperatures soar up to 45??C over the weekend, a new record for the month July on the island....

It is not relenting too much up here in Polemi. It is still over 35 in the shade.

Feels quite a bit better in Tala today. Breeze coming up from the sea rather than the hot dry wind from the hills we had the last few days. Humidity also considerably higher I think - that's at least how it feels.

Here, it has been a steady ~2°C cooler today than yesterday from 08:00 to now 11:45: even so, it is now 38.3°C against 40.8° this time yesterday

Just been speaking to an old friend in Northumberland. It has been raining there for the last 9 hours and rain is forecast for another 6 hours.
It is 13oC and he has his central heating turned on! I KNOW WHERE I'D RATHER BE!!

Sitting near pool now and definitely much more pleasant than last five nights but also most certainly more humid. A.
