Dog walking in the heat

If you put the back of your hand on the floor and cannot keep it there for more than 5 seconds then it's too hot to walk your dog.

It's akin to us humans trying to walk across a hot sandy beach barefoot, Jacs. You end up hopping and jumping all over the place! But wearing flip-flops or sandals, it's fine...

So howzabout insulated velcro booties for our canine friends in extreme high temperatures, I wonder? One on each corner, S M L XL sizes.

Cut me in for 10% commission... ;) X

The search dogs going into Grenfell Tower Block were wearing boots, whether or not they were heat resistant I don't know.

Better still don't walk your dog at a time when you know that hard surfaces will be very hot. It's not fair to the dogf
If you have to take the dog out, then go by car to a suitable place with a soft, pref grassy surface.which is shaded.

Any dog owner should already know this of course but timely advice, I walked our dog on Riccos grass area today but the heat was too much for me never mind our dog Coco, we soon made a hasty retreat... 8-)

You say that Jim, but just check the number of people at markets, fairs , etc walking dogs in this blistering heat. This is just a simple test that may make people aware of what is actually a problem for animals strolling around at leisure with their owners.

Thanks, Ronk, in fact, I live under that webcam in Tremithousa, and yes I did run a tight ship, look in the politics section here and you can understand why. :D

I have had a pooch all my life I am well aware of this extraordinary heat we are all suffering on the island at the moment. Jacs and those strays?, I saw two out for a stroll on their own this morning.
as you may remember I am not a shopper neither is Coco.

Ronk, I actually also miss the day to day running of CL and it's great members. Not a chance though of CL being resurrected Dom has CL covered mostly :D and of course many of our old membership, that was 7.500 at its closure.

KeoAl yes my email is the same and will remain the same.

That PM? I changed my mind nothing sinister.

Hope Dominic does not mind me posting this for ex CL members, you can look back at CL archives if you wish to do so you cannot post though.

Photos can still be accessed if you wish to copy them, this is one I posted way back.

That's the second time you have posted a link to your old site in a few days.

As the saying goes: Two's company, three's a crowd. :)

-- EDIT --

I have locked this thread because the heat was obviously getting to some of you. The rest of the conversation can be found in the pit.
