Our rate of return on our PV panels in the UK for Spring was 9.32% on our investment, compared to 7.5% last year, and that was with higher electricity prices, especially for export.
I'm quite happy with a return of 5% throughout the year, because that is more than if my money was in a bank or building society.

What effect does an increase of sunshine have on the production of wind energy? Shouldn't it increase as well?

Think the answer to your question would be yes, especially on an island and near the coast, where most turbines are in the UK. The land heats up, hot air rises and is replaced by cooler air from the sea, producing air movement.
We have noticed that it has been windy most days this year. Turbines at Kouklia have been turning almost everyday.

I would have thought so as well. Let´s hope you´re right, as the performance of my investment in a UK windfarm company has left a lot to be desired due to below average electricity production.
