It must be around two years now since any work has been done on the Paphos to Polis Motorway.
Does anyone know what is happening ? Have you heard any rumours about it, ie when, or if work is ever likely to start on it again
Also there seems to be very little activity on the widening of the Mesogi to Tsada main road

Don't know how true it is Trevor, but when we lived there, Cyprus joined the EU, it was then said, that when they started work on improving a road, they got cash from the EU, so, they started work to get the money, then moved on to start work on another, leaving the first road unfinished.
Maybe that's what happened, although, of course, it may not be true.

Regarding the motorway, I believe it is out to tender.
Regarding the B7, they are still actively working on it, though at the moment the work is happening on the other side of the hill, between Tsada and Stroumbi. There are traffic lights there daily during the week. Presumably, they aren't doing anything at the Mesogi end at the moment, as that would cause more traffic lights and people would moan about there being too many traffic lights.
My only concern about the road widening is that they appear to be doing so by building over the drainage ditches that run between the road and the hill. I haven't inspected the work closely, but if that is indeed the case it will mean that when we next have a wet winter the road will have issues with flooding. Hopefully I am wrong.

Dominic, I don’t think the works between Tsada and Stroumbi are road widening, the extra metre or so of width on the downhill side Heidi g towards Stroumbi is at a 15/20 degree slope with a large raised edge, and would be borderline dangerous if taken at any sort of speed.
It looks to me more like they are trying to capture more water as it runs off, especially further down the hill where the excavation now turning left ‘inland’. Perhaps it will all join up with the pumping station further down the hill on the left (heading towards Stroumbi).

Yes I think you are right. I certainly hope you are!
One problem I think is that they have done similar between Giolou and Polis, but called it road widening. So possibly something is getting lost in translation?

Giolou to stroumbi looks wide enough to have a crawler lane and drainage channel.

I was referring to the area between Giolou and Chrysochou.

I live along that stretch and I can't say that I've seen any roadworks being done.
