Some advice please. We have a car here and come over twice a year. The MOT is due on the 18th October. We are out here for another week but not back until the 31st October. The car is left at an apartment complex. Would it be okay to prebook an MOT for say 1st November or would you recommend we get it done in the next week. Thanks for any advice

After Covid we just took it to the place on Mesoghi Rd the day after we arrived and got it gone - it had been without MOT for a few months - we had no issues

Thanks for that. So I guess 2 weeks late shouldn’t be a problem

I'm not a lawyer  but I wouldn't have thought so - ours was a few months!

I wouldn't bother until your next visit, they do not seem to be too keen on MOT or TAX, some Cypriots only MOT & Tax their cars every 3 years as if it goes over 3 years you have to pay to re-register the car.

I bought a second hand car and had to pay last years and this years road tax as the last owner hadn't bothered.

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to wait until I come back in October

As others have said. To comply with the law, when you come back you should phone and make a definite appointment with the MOT station you are going to use. And you should not use the car until you have been to that appointment.
Even if it fails, you are allowed to use the car for 30 days to allow you to get it repaired.
