Hmm, it will be interesting to see what members who regularly use the facilities there say about the improvements. I know a new 'wing' has been built at the back and I would think that will be bang up to date.
I do attend the heart lab there and things seem to be ok, although in a little bit of a dated area
It will be almost two years since I attended the Urology department and again the premises spoilt the impression with a little corner with a curtain to get undressed in for an internal scan/photos.
I was given the photos and told to return in a couple of days..
I checked in and paid my 6 euros. When I got to the Urology rooms I counted 19 people waiting to see a doctor...
It was not something I wanted to go through, so I went to the Blue Cross Hospital and asked to see the Urologist. I was told which room to go to and the doctor and his nurse/receptionist were there to deal with me.. The end of the story is that I had a prostatectomy and the removed tissue was checked for cancer and the results were that there was no cancer there.
I will just add that the treatment there by the nurses and all the ancillary staff was brilliant. The kitchen staff come round each day to ask what you want from a small choice for lunch and tea-time meal..
Is the General Hospital like that? ie up to private hospital standards.? I doubt it, but maybe they are getting there.
