Born 4 hours ago... (for animal lovers)

This is a little animal story which happened today on a sunny pleasant morning.
Since more than one year the female donkey of my landlord got a boyfriend and she is pregnant since.

I watched her digging holes this early morning and I thought this is perhaps a sign that she will give birth very soon... and it happened around 11 AM.

I gave mother and baby donkey a bit a time but 3 hours later I went there with my camera taking some shots over the high fence, when nobody else was there.

The young one was hiding behind her mum when I arrived

But after a short while the mother left her baby in order to find some grass nearby

The young one had now problems to keep standing

and lay down, but to my surprise the mother came back with grass not for her, but for the baby....

how cute is that...

she had obviously enough of my presence and pushed the little one to stand up and follow her away from me...

so I went next door to see the proud father who had a good look what's happening on the other side of the fence

but he was very relaxed, I think

Well, in order to get some decent pics I had to hold the camera over the top end of the wire fence, which was quite painful hence to the sharp ends of the wire. So I could not see too much on the monitor of the camera which I tilted towards me, but at the end I got some results.

And yes, I prefer animals to people too.....

Anyhow thanks for your positive comments.
