Opp’s
Back in the mid 80’s I was working at a printers, when we got an order quite a large order from a customer.
The order was for 15000 48 page A4 books plus the cover, and we had little over a week the deliver the job.
So 3 section where set out to another Printers to print them section’s and I got on with the last 3 section’s and then printed the cover which was just black on the front cover.
Printing was all done by Thursday lunch time and the whole job was collected by the print finishing company.
The got the job finished late Friday afternoon and delivered it Saturday morning to our office in pack’s of 100 books yep 150 packets!!!
I went to work on Monday morning to be meet by the general manager to be told there is a problem
He the pointed to a sack barrow with 15 packets on it.
And said that’s the job there, 1500 books!!!!!
Someone at the customer had put and extra 0 on the end of the order number making it 15000 books
And so 13500 books went in to the rubbish truck!
And we got paid for the full 15000 books as it was on the official order
