I fully understand that this does not effect UK Expat's directly and may be of little interest to most of you but it may be of interest to some Expat Pensioners living in Cyprus who may have been effected by the new UK governments actions of late - If you are not aware of what is taking place at the moment - Either way the speed at which this petition is gathering signatures is amazing ---

Yes, while I think they have been terrible so far, I can't see them deciding to jack it all in and call an election on the basis of an online petition. If that was the case we would have rejoined and left the EU again several times over by now.

Maybe this will make them at least rethink over pensioners and farmers and what a rotten job they have done so far

I signed it, something has to be done.
This government is a disaster, and we are a laughing stock to the rest of the world.
A lot of expats still have family living in the UK, so you have every right to be concerned.

The only way would be if his own team turned on him with a vote of no confidence - Which is possible as there is a lot of infighting at the moment but there is no way he will call another election himself

Quite possible, Labour's financial backers the trade unions will oust him. His policies are directly effecting trade union members, job losses and their retirees. Trouble is, will it then open the door for something even worse - Corbyn and Momentum? Reform seem to be gaining ground everywhere and they now have a Trump card.

In 4 1/2 years time, granny and granddad, who they have stabbed in the back, sadly, might not be around to vote them out.
Brutal they are, stupid they are not.

My beef with labour and the heating grant, is they didn't mention any of that before the election, and i will lose it because i have a property in the uk,
Having said that how is it fair that millionaires living in mansions qualify for a heating grant, it should only be given to poorer familys, as it will be now.

I agree that WFA should be given at a certain annual income level, and of course millionaires should not receive it. That said, you now have to be on the breadline to receive it. The application form, of several pages, will be impossible for some elderly people to complete.
My beef also, is that, it was never mentioned in the Labour manifesto, and that the MPs themselves, I understand, receive heating allowance, amongst many other allowances, that we, the tax payer, pay for.
