Devil seems to be missing unless i have missed his post's

There was a post on the Eastern Board a while back to say he's been quiet, but it was then confirmed that he was alive and kicking!

Yes, I too miss Devil, always a lively debate.

I sent him a PM a while ago and it hasn't been opened.

That is sad news that it seems he is unable to use his computer

Yes if it's true, it's very sad news indeed.

Let's just hope the old Curmudgeon is temporarily indisposed?

Hmmm, it could be a mundane reason.

Without giving his private email address away, it was uncommon and not one of the usual providers (hotmail etc). He obviously had his own domain registered.

That domain is now available. This would indicate that he stopped renewing it. Every domain name, like paphoslife.com, has to be renewed annually, though you can choose to renew for more than one year if you wish.

If he decided to stop renewing his domain, then his email account would also stop working. So he wouldn't have even seen the email notification that the board sent him informing him of the private message.

The only means I have of communicating with him is via this email, which clearly isn't working any more.

So, if you know of another means of contacting him, then by all means check he is ok!

If he was a member on the Eastern Forum maybe Steve has more information

I posted a while back on it and have PM'd him and emailed - but didn't check the domain and looks as mentioned that it's just expired (didn't bounce though).

I tried calling him a little earlier but no answer - could be that he doesn't recognise the number though and isn't answering as haven't called him previously.

No answer to my calls today - but please note I got his number from the phone directory and it could well be that he no longer has a landline, or doesn't recognise the number so is not answering etc etc.

He hasn't logged in here for 20 days and a bit longer than that on ours which is a bit unusual - but he could for instance be in hospital as he did post about a few health issues and will be in his 90's now.

I have his address and will see if anyone on ours isn't too far away and thinks it's appropriate to call by.

He may well pop up though and tell us off in his usual style

Does he have any relatives/close friends, living in Cyprus, does anyone know? If so, a tactful message of concern wouldn't go amiss.

Without wishing to reveal too much personal info, he does have a daughter but she doesn't live in Cyprus.

Am trying to arrange for someone to pop around and do a discreet check.

I really am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I reached out on Facebook and connected with someone who knows a neighbour of Devil's (Brian).

They have just come back to confirm that unfortunately he passed away at the start of May.

The neighbour apparently lived on the same street and I cannot confirm any more than that but have no reason to question the info or where it has come from.

Knowing him for 16+ years he will be sorely missed by me and many others!
