Thanks for this info, was awaiting this.
Forms filled and paid, seemed much easier this year with the tax portal.
Thanks again

I also overpaid in 2021 realised my mistake. Emailed with amount I was owed and my bank details received an acknowledgment and money paid in to my bank account within 5 days. Guess I was lucky I would try Emailing them again its worth a try

Thank you for the useful information.
Please can anyone confirm if you are under 19.500 euros of income. Do you need to complete a tax form for 2023.
Have tried to find out from the Goverment portal but unable to see anything on there.
Many thanks.

My understanding is that if you 'earn' less than 19,500 Euros you still need to be registered with the tax office and complete a tax form. If you don't how are they going to know that you don't earn enough to pay tax ?

I’ve emailed them 3 times now, the overpayment was in September last year and they owe me a significant amount of money!

Does anyone know the GBP/EUR rate that should be used for 2023, or where to find it?

Using the Customs & Excise figures, a Government Body, I make it 1.148

I used 1.1495, which was the average for 2023

MOH overpaid by 400 Euros in 2010, after many letters sent recorded delivery to the tax office, nothing. They expect us to be honest, a pity they aren't!

Thanks to Aargent and Mark. I had thought that perhaps there was an official exchange rate one had to use, but I guess you can just take an average from a reliable source.
