On the agenda at the last board meeting ( down at the pub of course ) was do airlines track your flight enquiries and the more you enquire about a certain flight you are interested in the price goes up.
The board was split 50/50 on this,,being a fact or myth? :
What do you think/or know?

as far as I know this is a fact, so to avoid this I was told to remove cookies. Don't know if this is true.

It's a myth, or at least Easyjet and Jet 2 don't do it, my wife looks at flights for days before buying and they usually do NOT go up.

I'm not sure about airlines raising prices if one is trying to compare prices by clicking on their website more than one before booking. I find that with Easyjet the price of a flight goes up. Also they state if others are booking the same flight as you. Such things as "only 2 seats left at this price" to encourage one to go for it,

Why not just test it out for yourself?

Check a flight, and note down the price.
Check it again half an hour later, and again etc.
Does the price go up?

If not, it is a myth.
If yes, unplug your router for a minute, and open up a private session on your browser (you know, the one you use for porn), and check the price again.

Is it the original price or the new one?
If it is the original price, then they were scalping you and it is a fact.
If it is the new price, then it is a myth, and the price just changed as prices do.

With one certain airline after booking the flight, and trying to pay , I get there is a problem come up,
so off we go to redo the whole process only to find when i get to pay, the price has gone up by 20 e
This has happened several times so I'm wondering is this something they do on purpose?

Download OBS Studio. This will record your screen. That way you will be able to demonstrate what happens.

There was a couple of Jet Two staff in our Greek class they both insisted that flight prices can increase the more times you view their site, they also showed us how to use incognito browsing which stops this.

We only tend to book scheduled flights nowadays, but I would think that UK flights would up prices according to enquiries.
