It's many years ago but when we were looking for an unfurnished house to rent I went to Cyprus for a week and viewed properties with a Cypriot friend. We used the Golden Opportunities ( Greek paper) but found the one we eventually settled for and stayed in for 12 years advertised in the Cyprus Weekly. Ours was a private landlord so no agents involved.

Also ask at local kiosks and tavernas. Someone usually knows of someone who has properties to sell or rent.

There are far more furnished properties for long term rent than unfurnished. However, unfurnished places are available and some landlords are also willing to accommodate the needs of a potential long term renter, as ours was, by de-furnishing just ask.

Many Landlords will advertise their properties through multiple agencies but rarely inform them all when a property has been successfully let.

However, try looking at these two websites, both of which allow filters to be set to find properties which are unfurnished and both of which are well maintained and kept up to date.

If you have a car, it is also worth while traveling around the area that you want to live in.
Many renters don't use agents and just put a sign up outside the property saying that it is to rent, and providing a phone number..

When we rented our property it was advertised as ‘furnished’ but when we said to our Cypriot landlord that we had all our own stuff coming in a container he said “no problem” tell me a week before the container is due and I will take everything you don’t want out and just leave the basics like a bed and a couple of chairs etc. When you know the removers are on their way, phone me and just ask them to move the remaining stuff you don’t want outside and I will collect it. He was there within an hour
