Using Mobile PAYG Balance to Donate to Charity

Top tip:
If you are changing your mobile phone provider and have a PAYG balance left on your phone that you will lose when you move provider, rather than simply losing the balance you could instead consider donating the balance to a charity.

For example, we had €40 balance left on a CYTA PAYG and have just donated this balance to PASYCAF. To donate via text/SMS you just need to text PASYCAF 5 to 7060. This will donate €5 from your balance to PASYCAF. There is no charge for the text. You can do this multiple times a day. It also works with PASYCAF 1 and PASYCAF 3 to donate €1 and €3 respectively.

Other local charities may have a similar scheme.

Every little helps and this seems a better option than simply losing your balance to the phone provider you are moving away from.

A very worthy cause, and, as if other charities, people can donate points to their chosen charity at the supermarkets.
This method is popular with tourists who do not want to sign up to a loyalty scheme.
