Renewing driving licence for over 70

Has anyone recently renewed their over 70 Cypriot driving licence? I’d like to know what paper work (and copies!!) is needed to take to the Citizens Advice Centre after making an appointment with them. Asking several people we seem to get different replies so wanted some good advice from someone that has done so recently.

You need to see a Dr and they will give you the form after they have filled their part in.

My wife renewed her over 70's driving licence last month.

You can arrange an appointment by calling 8000 2000.

She had form signed by GP.
other form in Greek.

Yellow slip + copy
6 months utility bills + copies.

They keep your existing driving licence and provide temporary licence.

Have the doctors report so it’s just a case of making loads of copies of the necessary forms and hey presto here we go!!!! Nothing is easy here so sure something is incorrect!!!

With everything in hand (+ copies) I was informed my old driving license no. Did not match my MEU 1 no. Rejected, ‘go to immigration and get a letter to say you are only one person’. Life here can be a little difficult.

Things have changed greatly since MOH had to renew his licence at 70.

We went to the Department of Transport offices, we were shown into a room with a gent sat at a desk. He pointed to a vehicle you could see out of his window, he said to my husband, can you read that number plate? My husband said 'yes', forms stamped, job done.

We chuckled all the way home over that.

How long did your wife have to wait for her appointment?
Thanks

I renewed my driving license a couple of months ago, I waited a week for my appointment. I used the Citizens Service office on old Butcher Boy Rd. In case you don't know there is now a large municipal carpark on the opp side of the road.

Thanks Dee

Also, would someone please give me the links to the doctor's form and the application form? I keep looking for them but they escape me.

Thank you

You can personally collect the 2 forms from the main Post Office in Anavargos.

That's what I did last time 2 years ago, and they also gave me a list of all the items needed. You don't need an appointment just to collect the forms.
However as we are between Paphos and Polis, I prefer to use the Polis office to actually take the forms in after having made an appointment there..

You will probably get a choice of having new driving licence sent to PO via registered post ( at a cost )
OR you should receive an SMS to collect ( no appointment is needed )

With regards to the form signed by the GP (Personal Doctor) - What is the charge for this?

Another question - How long before your current Cyprus Driving Licence expires can you apply for it to be renewed?

Last time a friend of mine went to renew his licence his birthday was the 10th of the month.
However, because the appointment to renew it was on the 1st of the month his licence was renewed from the 1st.

There is no charge from my Doctor, but I will not put the name.
I believe you can renew one month before the expiry date

Yes, one month before your license is due to expire.
I picked up my forms for the GP when I made my appt at the Citizens Service Centre....
The forms are in Greek! So you may need someone fluent in the language to translate them.
