Fires in Rhodes

I am due to fly to Rhodes with my family for my granddaughter's wedding in September.

With all the stories regarding the fires currently raging there, I wondered if anyone on Cyprus, had an idea of exactly how serious the situation is. I do know that it's serious, obviously, but not sure if it's as bad as the news reports here make out. You always imagine that the media just want to sell papers. That said, I am worried that our accommodation, or even the venue in Lindos, might not survive the wild fires.

Thanks for any info.

Some friends of ours are on holiday in Rhodes at the moment. They haven't been affected, so it isn't island wide.

have a look at the maps that have been published to obtain a better idea of the band of problems across the whole island.
