Sure many of you drove the valley of the Diarizos River starting next to our large dam Asprokremnos towards Agios Nikolaos and further to Troodos...
Well there are some large rocks in the middle of the valley and you have to slow down as the road just got enough space between them. Just after the rocks there is a very lush vegetation along the river and cooler temperatures and the air always smells nice from the huge Platanos (plane) trees growing on the river bank. I drove this road many many times and enjoyed the smell there but never realized the nice formation of rocks which one can only see from the air. Sometimes I saw people in free-climb there but gave not much attention. So enjoy the short video from the expert of Drone videos, Manos.

We've driven through that pass only a couple of times. Very nice video from the air and amazing to see how slim and pointy the rocks are in some places, I always thought they were big fat rock formations.

There is a geocache there too, in amongst the trees. We went looking for it and disturbed loads of frogs.

Awesome stuff thanks, Max (and Manos, the expert drone pilot!). Yes, I've driven up and down that road on a few occassions, but it's not until you see the Manos aerial view (accompanied by haunting music sound track) that you begin to realize the pure majesty of the local geography that he is portraying! Class act...

Let's ask Manos if he can manage a further drone feat, maybe? All the way from Paphos Harbour, along the Sea Caves coast, pop down to see wotz happening at Yiallos roundhouse taberna, overview of the Cap St George development, then finally land at Agios Georgios fishing harbour (perhaps after a pass over the Last Castle at the foot of Avakas Gorge?)

Now that would be something extra special for us all to enjoy!!!

Have driven that road many times. Like you I love the verdant growth of trees by the river, it never seems to dry up.
It must be a good spot for an ambush,because at one time the gap where the road passes through the huge rocks was even narrower.

Max, can you pinpoint or give a more specific location of the rock formation, I like to visit for some photos.

We've walked both sides of that formation and it's particularly stunning when the river is running.
